Listen to informative lectures, network with peers from around the state and participate in the annual Residency and Procedures Fair during the Texas Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Students. The conference coincides with TAFP’s C. Frank Webber Lectureship and Interim Session, March 5, 2010, in Austin, Texas, where students and residents can also attend meetings for the Section on Students and Section on Residents. During these meetings, TAFP discusses current issues of these two groups and develops Academy policies to meet their needs. Travel funding is available.

Cancer Rotation ProgramThe University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center would like to invite all second- and third-year family practice residents from accredited programs to participate in a four-week cancer rotation at their facility in Houston, Texas.
TAFP’s Student, Resident and Community Physician Poster CompetitionEach year, the TAFP Foundation and Commission on Public Health sponsor the TAFP Student, Resident and Community Physician Poster Competition to support family medicine research. There are three categories: primary research, evidence-based review and case report. Abstracts and application forms must be submitted to Kate McCann at TAFP by May 14, 2010 and the competition will take place during Annual Session, July 23, 2010 in San Antonio.
