Lawmakers should address access to care by investing in primary care research and innovation
Texans need and deserve a strong, well-coordinated, easily accessible primary care delivery system. With as many world class medical schools, health science centers, research institutions, and hospitals, one has to wonder why we don’t already have it. The newest addition to TAFP’s advocacy team, Helen Kent Davis and TAFP CEO Tom Banning say legislators could establish and fund a primary care research and innovation lab dedicated to improving primary care resiliency, capacity, access, efficiency, cost effectiveness and more during the upcoming legislative session.
